I find joy in each season, as they each have a special something that excites me. The change in the air, the change of colors and the special holidays that each season brings. Summer ushers in a childlike carefree feeling, a time to venture outdoors, wear all the colors and live outside of the usual day-to-day routine.
I’m looking forward to swims at grandma’s house, lots of grilling, a checklist of Summer activities and staying close to home. Seeing Vivienne in the pool is the cutest! As the years go by, I do not take for granted the house we continue to make a home, our beautiful local surroundings and friends and family that we love to spend time with. A low key Summer is what I am looking forward to.
Arthur is finishing up his last week of Summer camp at his new school that he will attend in the Fall, and next week he starts a four-day golf camp. After that, we don’t have much planned, so our August is wide open. We do have a list of museums he wants to visits, so will give it my best to check them all off my list. As Arthur gets older, I know Summer time will eventually be filled with activities that includes less and less mom time, so, happy to have all this time together right now.
On our Summer list.
Getting outdoors. Hikes and more neighborhood walks. Lazy and sandy beach days (so many local beaches to visit). And most importantly, enjoying our backyard (lots of work to be done, but such a great space to relax in.)
Explore. I am itching for a roadtrip. Arthur has a list of museums he wants to visit, and I’d love to squeeze in some concert date nights.
Entertain. Playdates at home (feels a bit more relaxed) and invite more friends over (lately, coffee dates at home have been a great way to start the day). Also, any excuse for Greg to try a new recipe is my favorite thing!
Some Summer essentials to have on hand.
Happy sunshine & Summer!
