I’m so thankful for this all in slow Summer and the easy going planning of filling our days with errands, movies, baseball, lots of relaxing at home, swimming and some getaways. There is something so wonderful about getting up and not having to race around to get out the door. These slow days may be numbered, but until then we’ll be wrapping up Summer with that same carefree ease.
The school year is wrapping up quickly and within two weeks we’ll be in full Summer mode. I’m still catching my breath from “back-to-school”, but here we are. Usually months out, the planning frenzy of finding and securing a spot at Summer camps begins, as well as contemplating Summer school and vacation plans, all while making lists of home projects and how to keep the kids busy for almost three months. The pressure and endless activity options are overwhelming, so why not plan for a simple “let’s wing it” Summer.

One year with our darling Vivienne! Every day with her has been so deeply cherished. I remember so vividly being pregnant, eager to get through each doctor’s visit, each week and every month. Finally sharing the news and finally getting ready for our little girl. The past year has been a roller coaster of happiness, uncertainty, excitement, hope and growth.

And just like that, we are back to school. We had a longer than normal Summer break with lots of time together, but we are ALL so happy to be on the back-to-school routine!

Life as a family of four is in full force. Vivienne is just over one month old. She arrived a little over one week before my scheduled c-section date. Do what is best for yourself, your families and others. Take the time to assess where to travel, how to get there and what to do, safely. With that said, I received questions about our travel during this pandemic, so I hope it offers a bit of comfort and ideas if you are making travel plans.
I love when I’m asked about our favorite toys, products and activities that keep our little one busy. Besides ‘adventure’ walks (these days, ‘adventure drives’), bouncing in the bouncy house or playing in the dirt, I find much joy in sourcing a great toy or book. As best I can, I try to purchase thoughtful items I think Arthur will get much use out of and that have a learning or creative aspect. But not to worry, he has plenty of random toys and missing pieces floating around the house.

My little boy is one and we just celebrated his first birthday! This first year has a been a bit of blur and went by too fast. It may sound strange, but I feel like I have grown up so much too. My husband and I can’t imagine life without our sweet little guy, and can’t even remember what life was like before him. Life has never been the same since his arrival. Continue Reading…
LIVING: In the Fall Mood
When Fall rolls around, there is a lightness in the air, a cozy feeling takes over, and a bowl of chili always sounds like a good idea. Living in Southern California, cold weather does not happen often, but the thought of sweater weather, boots and scarves still remains.Continue Reading…
