I shared in a recent IG post my love of wearing pieces that make me feel good. This swimsuit gave me life and was the added flare I was searching for. It got me thinking, what do I consider essential for my closet, what have I accomplished in curating a well worn closet thus far, so that I can always love what I wear.
I want to cherish what I’m bringing into my home and closet. Yes, those things are important to me. I love discovering emerging brands, I am also loyal to the everyday stores and brands I’ve shopped for years, I love a forever piece and figuring out ways to revive it, I’ve improved my impulse to buy just to have, a treasured piece of jewelry or clothing doesn’t have to be pricey, but I make sure an investment piece gives me that “dizzy feel good” feeling, and I consider sustainability and always quality over quantity. I’d rather have a few loved pieces, than a closet full of stuff.
I have come to love the journey my go-to outfits takes on or an occasion dress that I can’t wait to wear again. I’m usually sharing a lot of the same things, but perhaps at different price points or an updated style I’m loving. I’m always window shopping. I also love some flare, a safe neutral palette, the classics, but also a statement piece.
Making it all work together, to build a multi-faceted and loved closet. It’s what sparks joy for me, and I hope it sparks a little something with others. That’s all. Just a brain dump of loving what you wear.
