My go-to top, is always a button up shirt style that I can easily wear almost anywhere. Lately, I’ve been wanting to refresh my shirts by adding in some color, texture and embellishments. As much as I love a neutral palette, I am a colorful girl at heart and tend to veer that way naturally. I think you can still have a tailored look with some fun pieces.
Personally, I tend to stick with whites, blues or stripes. But recently I’ve been eyeing silk blends, colored patterns and unique details. Here are five styles that I’ve come across that capture what I’m looking for.
This Everlane washable clean silk blouse is under $200 and comes in various colors. A silk blend pairs well with work bottoms, to fancy up denim, and to wear with a pleated midi skirt. I think this striped silk one and this silk one with some ruffle flare are perfect too.
Sézanne has many beautiful shirts like this embroidered ecru colored shirt that has the design refresh I’m lookin for.
Add color and texture with a classic Ralph Lauren oxford shirt. I have the white oxford, which I love, but there is something so all-American cool with this pop of color. Color or not, an oxford shirt is a must. I love this price point and high low style of this blue oxford shirt and this striped style.
A block print is a great way to add color and uniqueness to your closet. I love how this old design technique transforms a classic piece like the button up. This Emerson Fry cotton shirt is a beauty and quite perfect for Spring and Summer days. I love this Fall-like print and this playful shirt.
Last but not least, the classic white button, but updated. The ruffles on this Alex Mill shirt scream romance, and I love the scolloped details on this shirt and the peter pan collar of this shirt. Love the newness of these white button ups.
All tops linked in the shop, plus I added in a few more. Which shirt is your favorite?
