Last year I made some updates to my skin care routine. I enjoy testing new products from brands I already own, and discovering new clean beauty brands. Over the past several years, I’ve made a big effort to use only clean and non-toxic products or finding brands that use the best ingredients. Skin care is an investment and there are tons of skin care products on the market, so, if you’re willing to invest in your skin and invest the time to find what’s right for you, it is worth it!
Here are the new products I began to use in 2022 that I am bringing with me into 2023.
OSEA Hyaluronic Sea Serum – This serum smooths and plumps, is super light weight and a little goes a long way. I purchased this over Easter in 2022, when I got a facial at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. They use OSEA products so it was great to test out. This serum uses a seaweed and snow mushroom that provides added moisture to the skin, aiding in the process of smoothing fine lines. So good!
Odacite Creme de la Nuit – Discovering this night cream has been a game changer, and truly steps up the skin regeneration process at night. I purchased this new-to-me brand during our stay at Auberge du Solei in Napa early last year. It smells delicious and immediately seeps in once applied leaving your skin glowing and soft in the morning. After using for several months, I’m hooked and looking forward to trying more of their products.
Sisley Eye and Lip Remover – It had been quite some time since I purchased a makeup remover, besides using face wipes here and there. But, after testing out a new face wash, I noticed mascara wasn’t fully coming off. So, I thought it was a good time to add a makeup remover to my line up. This specific product focuses on eyes and lips. It is a gentle gel texture, but excellent and wiping these areas clean, whether you are wearing a coat of mascara or full glam. All you need is one to two pumps on a cotton pad and voila.
Dr. Barbara Strum the Good C Vitamin C Serum – I use a Vitamin C serum daily, so when I was runninglow mid-year, I decided to switch things up. I was eager to try Dr. Barbara Strum, and the vitamin C serum was a great place to start. First, I love when a little goes a long way, you really don’t need much of this super light product. It absorbs quickly, is hydrating and contains a concentration of vitamin C that is safe and gentle. I’ve noticed a difference in the tone and brightness of my skin. Worth it!
Herbivore Pink Cloud Cream – Last year, I wanted a second option for a face cream. One that I could use when I wanted to go makeup free and mainly just staying in at home. Also, a substitute and a break from using my pricier face moisturizer daily. I’ve used Herbivore products in the past, so I revisited and went with this super soft and hydrating cream. I love how plump it makes my skin looks and it keeps my skin hydrated and fresh all day long. I sometimes use it as a night cream when I need a little boost of moisture and smoothness.
iS Clinical Cleansing Complex – Made the switch to this cleanser a few months ago and it’s definitely a keeper. I was looking for something gentle, yet super thorough in cleansing that didn’t dry out my skin. I love that it performs a mild resurfacing and is ideal for sensitive skin too. So glad I made the switch!
EltaMD UV Daily Broad-Spectrum Facial Sunscreen SPF 40 – This is now essential in my daily skin care rotation. It feels more like a moisturizer than sunscreen, so its hydrating while protecting your skin. I have worn it on its own and will throw in my bag for reapplying when outdoors.
