The holiday frenzy is upon us, and Christmas shopping is in full swing. Is it just me, or as we get older does this time of year just fly by? It is as if I never get to fully enjoy the holiday season. Maybe it’s because I do not get a three week Christmas break anymore? Either way, I am looking forward to some down time with family and taking in this holiday season with so much to be thankful for.
For Arthur’s first Christmas, we will be in the Midwest, visiting my husband’s family. We are really looking forward to this and cannot wait for Arthur to meet more of his Midwest family (and to see snow!).
As we start to check things off the Christmas shopping list for family and friends, it dawned on me that I hadn’t even thought of gifts for my own little one. He has to have gifts to open on Christmas day, right?! Since he pretty much wants to play with the television remote these days, we are doing our best to not buy him stuff just to have, but rather get him useful toys and build collections of keepsake items and things that can be passed down.
The Jellycat stuffed animals are my absolute favorite, and I think Arthur might need this cute bunny. They are soft, adorable and so cute that I don’t mind them piling up in our nursery. My husband and I are in love with the Miroslav Sasek ‘This is…’ books. His books feature specific cities around world, and I’d love to keep adding to Arthur’s collection. Also, how snazy is this ride on speedster!
I’ve been searching around for safe wooden toys, like blocks, toys cars and stacking rings. My go to site The Tot, has curated simple, sustainable and meaningful toys that I know Arthur will love. Loving these custom name modern blocks and the Little Sapling toy circle stacker.
Make it personal. Whether it’s a monogram or his first name, adding a personal touch makes such a beautiful statement. I just ordered this warm Mark & Graham knit kids hat for the babe with his name on it, and I think he (well, mom) needs a personalized tote to carry all of his toys around. Also, I’ve been eyeing this beautiful De Buci toile blanket, and I just might cave. It can be monogrammed too!
Happy shopping darlings!
